Omega 3 Fish Oil for your brain, not Flaxseed!

This is new information to me, so I wanted to pass it on!

Dr. Diana Pollock, medical director of the Morton Plant Mease Madonna Ptak Center for Alzheimer's and Memory Loss in Clearwater, was quoted in the March 26th edition of the St. Petersburg Times, saying your brain can benefit from omega-3 fatty acids found in fish. She says make sure you are getting fish oil, not flaxseed. She says that is a widespread misconception.

Our Mega Omega Complex has made a big difference in my life. Yes, it contains fish oil and some other great ingredients. By the way, no fishy aftertaste-PROMISE. It has made my dry skin a lot softer and I think it makes a huge difference in my mood! I was out for a week and didn't think about it until I got back on it, but I am happier on this supplement!

RESVERATROL MAY SLOW AGING

You've heard me say it here before, resveratrol is anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, neuro-protective and perhaps life-prolonging. Author of Raising Baby Green, Alan Greene, MD, says resveratrol could help protect us from everything from the common cold to cancer.

You can get your resveratrol from grapes and wine, but to get the protective amounts, many believe supplementation is the way to go. You will find resveratrol in many of our products, including our S-Force multi-vitamin and Cholesterol Control and some of our other products contain grape skin extract (Amla Rush concentrate and powder).

Feel free to contact me from www.myseriesse.com/mindy if you have any questions about our products or would like to order.

Four nutrients that may help ward off Diabetes

I read this information in the April issue of Prevention and wanted to pass it on.

New research found that four specific nutrients work together to help fight fat, balance blood sugar and get you out of the diabetes danger zone: Omega 3's, Fiber, Calcium and Vitamin D. Of course, eating right and getting more exercise are also beneficial in improving blood sugar and reducing diabetes risk. Fiber triggers hormones that control appetite, which also helps with weight loss.

In the article they say that obese people who went on a low-calorie diet that contained three daily servings of calcium-rich dairy lost 70% more weight and 64% more body fat than those who ate just one serving of dairy a day.
By the way, your body needs Vitamin D to absorb calcium and together they help fight diabetes.
Researchers believe that vitamin D quells cellular inflammation that contributes to diabetes.
Omega 3's are healthy fats that slow the rate of digestion, which makes you feel fuller longer so you eat fewer calories throughout the day. They also reduce inflammation, a major risk factor for diabetes (and many other diseases).

I have almost completed my health coach training and will be happy to consult with you to help you with your wellness goals.

Our S-Force multivitamin contains calcium and vitamin D in optimal levels plus we offer an incredible omega product that has no fishy aftertaste.

Fat-burning hormones work through your liver

I read a great book recently that taught me some new things I'd like to share with you.

What you may not know is that there are SIX fat-burning hormones that control weight loss and work through your liver. Improve your liver function and you will shed weight according to Eric Berg, a chiropractor that specializes in nutritional research and weight loss.

In his book, The 7 Principles of Fat Burning, he also discussed stress and pain and their connection with weight gain.

If you are under stress or have pain, the adrenal hormone, cortisol, is raised and it blocks fat burning. Green tea has been shown to help adrenal function and help the liver burn fat.

I also found an article in the local paper the other day that said green tea contains a compound that suppresses inflammatory products in the connective tissue of people with rhuematoid arthritis.

In earlier posts in this blog I addressed the benefits of green tea for the brain and for weight loss. You can use the search function to find them in this blog.

I hope you will try our green tea water amplifiers. They are a concentrate and come in four different flavors. I can also recommend our vitamins. They are food-bound (containing whole food)so your body recognizes and uses them for your maximum benefit. Another thing your body needs: our Mega Omega supplement. I promise it is better than any other Essential Fatty Acid product I've tried...no fishy taste...EVER!

Green tea concentrate duos on special!

How would you like to have the same energy and focus you get from coffee, but not have to suffer the ill effects? Moodiness, jitters, crash later, etc.

Our Green Tea Water Amplifier is a decaffeinated Green Tea Concentrate that improves focus by stimulating brain cells. Green Tea is a super antioxidant that also boosts metabolism which = weight loss! How you ask? Studies show Green Tea helps the liver burn fat which helps you look and feel better. I will provide additional information on the liver and weight loss in my next blog entry.

Stressed out? Green Tea has also been shown to help adrenal function! Our no-calorie concentrate comes in a variety of great flavors that you can add to hot or cold beverages. Try the Peach with your unsweetened iced tea for a great peach tea.

There are many other beneficial ingredients in the various flavors as well, including acai, which has been called the world's most nutritious fruit.

Mixed Berry contains cranberry, blueberry and raspberry. The Citrus Formula is an amazing immune booster (extra benefit of citrus with green tea).

Each bottle contains 60 servings (typically lasts a couple of months)and each serving equals 4 cups of green tea, which is what is recommended by health experts.

I use these everyday to make my water more tasty and nutritious! Why wouldn't you add this to your health regime? Shop online at www.myseriesse.com/mindy to save an additional 10% off this month!
