Four nutrients that may help ward off Diabetes

I read this information in the April issue of Prevention and wanted to pass it on.

New research found that four specific nutrients work together to help fight fat, balance blood sugar and get you out of the diabetes danger zone: Omega 3's, Fiber, Calcium and Vitamin D. Of course, eating right and getting more exercise are also beneficial in improving blood sugar and reducing diabetes risk. Fiber triggers hormones that control appetite, which also helps with weight loss.

In the article they say that obese people who went on a low-calorie diet that contained three daily servings of calcium-rich dairy lost 70% more weight and 64% more body fat than those who ate just one serving of dairy a day.
By the way, your body needs Vitamin D to absorb calcium and together they help fight diabetes.
Researchers believe that vitamin D quells cellular inflammation that contributes to diabetes.
Omega 3's are healthy fats that slow the rate of digestion, which makes you feel fuller longer so you eat fewer calories throughout the day. They also reduce inflammation, a major risk factor for diabetes (and many other diseases).

I have almost completed my health coach training and will be happy to consult with you to help you with your wellness goals.

Our S-Force multivitamin contains calcium and vitamin D in optimal levels plus we offer an incredible omega product that has no fishy aftertaste.
