Exercise idea!

Yesterday I joined Netflix and found they have 500 or so fitness DVDs you can rent and then you’ll never get bored of your routine. I sat down and went through the whole list yesterday and put about 30 on a list. They will automatically be sent out one right after the other. I’m excited and thought some of you may want to do the same. I signed up for under $10 a month and I think I’ll like it better than leaving the house for a workout! Plus you can also rent movies you can watch on the treadmill!

Are you sticking to your baby step? Have you been checking in with your accountability partner? Are you doing your affirmations? Are you tracking your exercise and your food intake? Are you taking your supplements? I hope all of these steps are helping you and that you feel like you are moving in the right direction!

For those of you who aren't familiar with what I am asking above, I am health coaching a group of 17 people who are losing weight with our S-Force products. Please contact me if you would like more information.

More energy, better mood, lower cholesterol, lose weight

I am happy to report that our S-Force weight loss kit has helped many lose 3-5 pounds each week since we started 2009! Many feel more energy and are more focused and happier (no kidding, even while restricting calories and adding in exercise!). I want you to know that our cholesterol product has also helped lower bad and increase good cholesterol for many of my customers. Here are the numbers for my mother after being on the cholesterol control for 4 months. Total cholesterol went from 267 to 227. Her good cholesterol was at 80 (2 times the normal) and her bad is better, down 40 points. For more information please go to www.myseriesse.com/mindy and feel free to get in touch with me if you need help in ordering.

I have what you need for energy and weight loss!

Because we don’t get all the nutrients we need from our food, we must supplement. The nutrients in our supplements will provide optimum health, but will also help you with your weight loss goals! Our S-Force multi-vitamin is a must!
If you are cutting calories and not currently supplementing with amino acids, you need our S-Pro whey protein powder. Essential amino acids are called that because they are required to support life.
By taking your amino acids in a protein shake, you are assured they are in the proper ratios. It will also help you lose weight and maintain muscle. In addition, it helps with your mood and energy while dieting! Adding this into your diet will help normalize a slow metabolism.
Amino acids should be taken with some fruit juice so here is the winning recipe. Use our Amla juice concentrate, cold water and a scoop of protein powder. If you need a little extra, use a half of a frozen banana!
We are about preventive medicine! Check out my website at www.myseriesse.com/mindy and email me or call me for more information.
The right food and supplements are half the battle. For lasting weight loss and to be a happier, more well-adjusted person, you must move the body! The best time for working out is in the morning…studies show you burn more fat in the morning. Second best is in the evening before dinner. Aim for 30 minutes, 6 days a week. If you can find time to add 15-20 minutes later in the day, you will lose weight faster and up your metabolism.

Boost your Metabolism, Lose Fat, Gain Muscle

Our goal this month is to be in control and make decisions from a position of strength. Have you done your wheel and figured out where you’d like to improve? Have you set a baby step? If so, and you’ve been sticking to it, I’m sure you are feeling stronger and more in control of your choices.
Today I’d like to talk about metabolism (metabolic rate=rate at which your body burns calories for energy). We are going to work on increasing metabolism so calories are burned faster and less body fat is produced. We are talking about a lifetime plan you can live with, making small changes that lead to a healthier lifestyle, not counting or cutting calories!
The reason I recommend taking what you would normally eat and breaking it into 6 small meals is because every time you eat, your metabolism increases. This also keeps you in control of your appetite. Make sure you have some protein for breakfast (an S-Force whey protein shake works)!
From the book, Fat to Fit Without Dieting, by Jeanne Rhodes, your body produces less fat and more energy from smaller, frequent feedings, plus the time of day you eat also influences your body’s fat production. Eating a big meal at night really is counterproductive because the thermic effect of food is lower by evening, and your body’s caloric requirements are also lower by evening.
She goes on to say that Fiber Fights Fat! Load up on grains and vegetables because high fiber foods combine with the fat in a meal to prevent some of its absorption and fiber increases food transit time (moves through the intestines quicker limiting caloric absorption. Aim to have fiber in each of your meals and snacks.
I used to eat a turkey roll-up (turkey wrapped in provolone cheese) as my lunch, thinking I was doing the right thing by cutting the carbs with bread. I recently added whole grain bread to it and I find I’m satisfied for a much longer time! Try it!
I hope you are having a successful week.

On medication or not, you need supplementation!

Some prescription drugs deplete your nutritional status:
Antacids, ulcer meds, antibiotics, cholesterol drugs, anti-depressants, female hormones, anti-convulsants, anti-inflammatories (aspirin and NSAIDS), diuretics, cardiovascular drugs, diabetic drugs and anti-virals.
Our S-Force items are AMAZING and are making everyone more focused and more energetic!

Our Amla Rush features the amalaki berry along with other berries (blueberries, raspberries, cranberries, strawberries, bilberry) and fruits for an antioxidant packed juice concentrate. The amalaki berry has been studied for over 50 years in regards to this fruit and cholesterol, wrinkles, eyesight and cancer. It’s a youth-promoting tonic, anti-inflammatory that helps nearly all systems of the body. Low in calories and all-natural sugars. Most concentrated source of natural Vit C known.
We also offer the Amla Rush powder with guarana for an added energy boost ( the powdered version has caffeine).

Our multi-vitamin is packed with wonderful ingredients to help those of us who don’t get the recommended fruits and vegetables every day. All the main vitamins needed plus minerals and over 100 balanced nutrients for optimum health attached to whole food so it’s recognized, assimilated and utilized better in our bodies (exlusive food-bound technology). Nearly all doctors recommend a multi. We have added many other beneficial ingredients to help with energy, combat stress and improve overall health.

Our cholesterol control contains chromium which has an adaptogen effect. Everyone after 35 needs it and most of the population is deficient in it. Cycladol is an herb the FDA has determined helps lower cholesterol without drugs. Resveratrol has been shown to be an anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-cancer ingredient.

Joint support formula contains glucosamine to help produce synovial fluid (the grease that keeps joints working smoothly) and helps in the growth, maintenance and repair of cartilage. Contains hyaluronan to support connective tissue. Many are feeling a difference right away but it could take 6 weeks for it to work.

Green Tea Plus Diet contains a blend of thermogenic nutrients that will boost your metabolism, increase energy and is anti-inflammatory. Ephedrine free. Contains guarana, yerba mate, acai fruit (superfood) and B12.

Green Tea Water Amplifier contains polyphenols that help shield your DNA from free radical damage. Made with the highest quality standardized green tea. Contains acai berry and is calorie free, caffeine free and sugar free. Tea drinkers show lower death rates.

Staying on track for a healthier you!

Here is some information that was new to me, and I apologize, I don’t know where it came from, but I wrote it down.
Metabolism climbs during digestion and is two times as high when eating a high protein meal.
If you lift weights two times a week, you will burn an extra 100 calories a day.
Sipping water keeps your energy up!
Now, I don’t know about you, but I have not kept all of my promises to myself this week. The “old” me would have beat myself up over it. The “new” me has compassion for myself and realizes that what matters is that I’m going in the right direction.
The question is, are you doing better this week?
One positive habit I added into my diet last year is drinking a daily green drink with added fiber. I purchase Nanogreens at my chiropractors office and then add Benefiber. This will help keep your body’s pH in check. Many doctors believe an imbalance of pH accelerates aging on the inside and outside.
Dr. Jeannette Graf says in her book, Stop Aging, Start Living, that unbalanced pH is thought to be the culprit of many degenerative and autoimmune diseases.
She adds for those of us concerned with weight loss and wrinkles, eat a diet rich in dark leafy greens, vegetables, olive oil and nuts, and eat less red meat and sugar. Dr. Graf recommends Greens First or Greens+ as a green drink if you can’t find the Nanogreens.
It’s the small changes we make daily that add up to a healthier lifestyle.

Health Coaching for Weight Loss

Many of you may just want to shed some extra weight. Others may have been struggling for a long time. If you watched Oprah Monday, you know that it’s more than just a weight issue. That’s why I’ll be focusing on how we think as much as what we do in our health coaching classes!
You have to make yourself important, a priority, and you must give yourself the care you need.
For those of you who have already read The Answer by John Assaraf, you know that 96-98% of our behaviors are automatic. We have to interrupt this pattern to make real changes in our lives. We will talk more about this in one of our group sessions.
Another good book I read recently that I would recommend to help you stop self-punishing patterns is The Dark Side of the Light Chasers by Debbie Ford. She says:
“Challenge the person you think you are in order to unveil the person you are capable of becoming.”
“If we don’t shift our perceptions of our true selves, we’ll be stuck repeating our past behaviors.”
“The power you need is there, but it will only come out when your desire to change your life is stronger than your desire to stay the same.” I am offering free coaching this month with the purchase of our S-Force weight loss kit. To contact me, go to www.myseriesse.com/mindy. You can order there and then email me to put you on the health coaching list.
I hope you are having a great week.

S-Force Weight Loss Kit on Special

The way to change in the New Year begins with incorporating new habits that edge out the old, negative habits.
I suggest you start the day from a position of strength. Do something physical first, then make sure you eat breakfast. Our S-Pro protein powder is a great place to start. You can combine it with cold coffee, ice cubes and skim milk to replace your expensive cold coffee from the coffee shop or mix it with berries and bananas for a great smoothie.
You’ll be glad to know our S-Pro contains whey protein which is better for many reasons.
Whey is a complete protein because it contains all essential and non-essential amino acids. Whey protein is actually absorbed, retained and used in the body and can enhance energy levels, boost immune functions and help fight infections.
Other benefits of Whey Protein:
Helps to increase serotonin activity, the body’s ‘antidepressive’ neurotransmitter
Helps to decrease stress and reduces cortisol concentration levels
Helps to improve mood and memory loss under stress
Helps to build lean body mass and reduce body fat
Satisfies appetite and helps keep your metabolic rate high
I would be happy to suggest additional products for optimal health. You can contact me at www.myseriesse.com/mindy
Have a great day!
Just remember, you can do anything you set your mind to, but it takes action, perseverance, and facing your fears.

What do you want?

Hopefully you are feeling motivated and excited about a new week, a new year and a new you! Even if you’re not, ACT like you are. Start by finding a way to enjoy the activities you do every day.
I read something when my kids were small that made me realize I’d better start finding a way to enjoy cleaning, laundry, dishes and making lunches because I’d be doing them for a long time. Guess what? I really do enjoy them now.
Putting your attention and love into daily activities does pay off! Energy flows where attention goes. Put your energy into the activities that REALLY matter. Be present in the moment and count your blessings.
If you have not yet started your affirmations, this is a good day to begin that. At first, I was hit or miss with mine, now I am consistent and have created quite a long list that I read through at least once a day.
Reading them while waiting at appointments or sitting in traffic is helpful. (By the way, my life coach friend, Nancy, recommends buying bubbles and blowing them while in traffic. She says the breathing part of it is helpful and you make others smile!)
Examples of some of my affirmations:
I love and accept myself and the choices I have made.
I now take charge of my mind and life.
I am willing to change. I release all resistance.
I create a new life with new rules that totally support me.
Don’t give up on your affirmations. Realize it has taken a lifetime to create your world the way it is now. It may not necessarily change instantly.
From the book, Creative Visualization, by Shakti Gawain - shorter, simpler affirmations that convey a strong feeling are more effective.
She says many in our culture have become cut off from their spiritual essence and thereby feel helpless or powerless. We then overcompensate and struggle very hard to have some degree of power or control in our world.
I have been guilty of this and have finally learned, LEAST EFFORT, NOT MOST EFFORT.
Nancy said to me recently when I said how I feel a need to be productive in my hours I’m not sleeping, “Is that what you want your life to be all about?” She encourages me to focus on BE-ING, not do-ing.
Figure out what you want your life to be about and start creating that!
Have a great day and a great week!
