Mineral makeup that works for mature skin too!

If you have always heard mineral makeup will emphasize your lines, or if you have tried it before and found it to settle in your wrinkles...I have good news!

Our mineral makeup actually seems to fill in my wrinkles...NO KIDDING! I am in my mid 40's and I can wear it all day, even in the Florida heat and humidity and it continues to look good and provide coverage all day.

Celebrity makeup artists swear by mineral makeup because it is a natural light-reflecting powder. As I understand it, we see wrinkles because of the shadows they create and since this reflects light there are no shadows to see. Our mineral concealer is my favorite of all because it hides my wrinkles around my eyes and my dark circles! Try it! (item #8051) I follow it up with the pressed foundation (you'll need to pick a shade for you-most are medium-item #84520).

Many with rosacea say it helps hide their redness without irritating their sensitive skin. Our line is free of fillers or talc and you get a lot more for your money with Seriesse.

I would be happy to recommend products for you if you contact me from my website. In the meantime, I'd like to tell you about some of my favorites.

The eye shadow compacts are the nicest I've ever used. You can go from natural to glamorous very easily. I use them for everyday and for TV performances. (buy both 8151 and 8152)

Our pencils, lip color and glosses are great along with our brushes. You will be very impressed.

What skin care products are best for you?

According to Allure magazine, 3 out of 4 women say they are confused about their skin type. That can make choosing products difficult. Seriesse can help with targeting products for the various stages of life. If you contact me I will be happy to do a consult with you to determine what you might need.

If you suffer from acne, we have the Continuously Clear line to treat, clear and even PREVENT acne. If you have acne, DO NOT use a scrub, but our Glycolic Mask will be helpful for you.

If you have large pores, some oiliness or sun damage and fine lines, our A Essentials line will help you.

Our C Essentials line is a little more emollient and good for 40 plus skin or if you are dry and have deeper lines and wrinkles. It also will help with sun damage or dark patches. Reveal a new, soft, fresh complexion with our C Extreme Results. It is a two step microexfoliator that you will LOVE!

If you are more mature and have thin skin, I recommend our Calstrum line for night and Uplift for daytime.

When in doubt or if you have combination skin, I can highly recommend our Gylcolic Cleanser and Mask, plus our Super Mel C line.

We have plenty of other targeted treatments I will discuss in further posts for you.

Tomorrow I will be talking about our Mineral Makeup line which I use every day and love.

We have what you need to look younger and better!

Seriesse offers products to help you look good, feel great and make money! Today we'll talk about improving your skin with some of my favorite products.

From Allure magazine, April 2009 issue, and Fredric Brandt, dermatologist, "If you don't moisturize you're not letting your skin repair itself, which will just lead to more damage." So, if your skin is parched, it will create more damaging free radicals.

My favorites for hydrating my own dry skin: In the morning, C Serum with Sunscreen, at night, A Serum with Calstrum. The topical Vitamin A (Retinol) is the only thing that has been proven to reduce fine lines over the long term.

I also mix in the Super Mel C and the Rulinea some days, and also the Instatox with Creamerum when I want to look my best. The Rulinea is helpful for discoloration and, of course, when trying to lighten dark spots, you must use your Sunscreen.

Guess what, we have a product called Correchin that I also mix with Instatox to help with jowls, plus it works for a saggy double-chin!

Now, if enlarged pores are your issue, daily cleansing with salicylic acid wash (from our Continuously Clear line) dissolves the oil in the pores and clears away any dead skin that can lead to clogging. Also, use our Glycolic mask for a refined, clear complexion.

I'm sure you've heard me say before that as we age the turnover of cells slows down, which robs your face of radiance. Use our C-extreme results and our Glycolic mask for exfoliation. Removing the dead cells will also improve the penetration of the active ingredients in your skin care products. By the way, Seriesse offers higher levels of active ingredients so you really see results!

Antioxidants help keep your skin's collagen from being broken down, and one of the best is our Coenzyme Q10 which helps the skin cells repair damage better than other antioxidants.

Please contact me if you need any help ordering any of these products.

Transform your life!

Lower your cancer risk, get a stronger heart, have more mental clarity, sleep better and be happier...how?

Move your body!

Getting your heart pumping increases your blood flow, delivering more oxygen to your brain.

According to Prevention Magazine, healthy adults who did aerobic activity consistently had 25% less musculoskeletal pain than couch potatoes.

The magazine also reports in the February 2009 issue that people who participate in vigorous physical activity just once or twice a week take about half the sick time of those who are sedentary.

And, a good workout practically ensures a better body image. Prevention reports that women ages 42 to 58 felt more attractive after 4 months of walking or yoga even if they didn't lose weight.

Omega 3 Fish Oil for your brain, not Flaxseed!

This is new information to me, so I wanted to pass it on!

Dr. Diana Pollock, medical director of the Morton Plant Mease Madonna Ptak Center for Alzheimer's and Memory Loss in Clearwater, was quoted in the March 26th edition of the St. Petersburg Times, saying your brain can benefit from omega-3 fatty acids found in fish. She says make sure you are getting fish oil, not flaxseed. She says that is a widespread misconception.

Our Mega Omega Complex has made a big difference in my life. Yes, it contains fish oil and some other great ingredients. By the way, no fishy aftertaste-PROMISE. It has made my dry skin a lot softer and I think it makes a huge difference in my mood! I was out for a week and didn't think about it until I got back on it, but I am happier on this supplement!

Contact me through www.myseriesse.com/mindy if you need help ordering.

RESVERATROL MAY SLOW AGING

You've heard me say it here before, resveratrol is anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, neuro-protective and perhaps life-prolonging. Author of Raising Baby Green, Alan Greene, MD, says resveratrol could help protect us from everything from the common cold to cancer.

You can get your resveratrol from grapes and wine, but to get the protective amounts, many believe supplementation is the way to go. You will find resveratrol in many of our products, including our S-Force multi-vitamin and Cholesterol Control and some of our other products contain grape skin extract (Amla Rush concentrate and powder).

Feel free to contact me from www.myseriesse.com/mindy if you have any questions about our products or would like to order.

Four nutrients that may help ward off Diabetes

I read this information in the April issue of Prevention and wanted to pass it on.

New research found that four specific nutrients work together to help fight fat, balance blood sugar and get you out of the diabetes danger zone: Omega 3's, Fiber, Calcium and Vitamin D. Of course, eating right and getting more exercise are also beneficial in improving blood sugar and reducing diabetes risk. Fiber triggers hormones that control appetite, which also helps with weight loss.

In the article they say that obese people who went on a low-calorie diet that contained three daily servings of calcium-rich dairy lost 70% more weight and 64% more body fat than those who ate just one serving of dairy a day.
By the way, your body needs Vitamin D to absorb calcium and together they help fight diabetes.
Researchers believe that vitamin D quells cellular inflammation that contributes to diabetes.
Omega 3's are healthy fats that slow the rate of digestion, which makes you feel fuller longer so you eat fewer calories throughout the day. They also reduce inflammation, a major risk factor for diabetes (and many other diseases).

I have almost completed my health coach training and will be happy to consult with you to help you with your wellness goals.

Our S-Force multivitamin contains calcium and vitamin D in optimal levels plus we offer an incredible omega product that has no fishy aftertaste.

Fat-burning hormones work through your liver

I read a great book recently that taught me some new things I'd like to share with you.

What you may not know is that there are SIX fat-burning hormones that control weight loss and work through your liver. Improve your liver function and you will shed weight according to Eric Berg, a chiropractor that specializes in nutritional research and weight loss.

In his book, The 7 Principles of Fat Burning, he also discussed stress and pain and their connection with weight gain.

If you are under stress or have pain, the adrenal hormone, cortisol, is raised and it blocks fat burning. Green tea has been shown to help adrenal function and help the liver burn fat.

I also found an article in the local paper the other day that said green tea contains a compound that suppresses inflammatory products in the connective tissue of people with rhuematoid arthritis.

In earlier posts in this blog I addressed the benefits of green tea for the brain and for weight loss. You can use the search function to find them in this blog.

I hope you will try our green tea water amplifiers. They are a concentrate and come in four different flavors. I can also recommend our vitamins. They are food-bound (containing whole food)so your body recognizes and uses them for your maximum benefit. Another thing your body needs: our Mega Omega supplement. I promise it is better than any other Essential Fatty Acid product I've tried...no fishy taste...EVER!

To order or contact me, please visit www.myseriesse.com/mindy.

Thanks and have a great day!

Green tea concentrate duos on special!

How would you like to have the same energy and focus you get from coffee, but not have to suffer the ill effects? Moodiness, jitters, crash later, etc.

Our Green Tea Water Amplifier is a decaffeinated Green Tea Concentrate that improves focus by stimulating brain cells. Green Tea is a super antioxidant that also boosts metabolism which = weight loss! How you ask? Studies show Green Tea helps the liver burn fat which helps you look and feel better. I will provide additional information on the liver and weight loss in my next blog entry.

Stressed out? Green Tea has also been shown to help adrenal function! Our no-calorie concentrate comes in a variety of great flavors that you can add to hot or cold beverages. Try the Peach with your unsweetened iced tea for a great peach tea.

There are many other beneficial ingredients in the various flavors as well, including acai, which has been called the world's most nutritious fruit.

Mixed Berry contains cranberry, blueberry and raspberry. The Citrus Formula is an amazing immune booster (extra benefit of citrus with green tea).

Each bottle contains 60 servings (typically lasts a couple of months)and each serving equals 4 cups of green tea, which is what is recommended by health experts.

I use these everyday to make my water more tasty and nutritious! Why wouldn't you add this to your health regime? Shop online at www.myseriesse.com/mindy to save an additional 10% off this month!

Great weight loss results!

I started a health coaching group in January with some women who wanted to get in shape and lose weight. I'm happy to report we've had great success: Beverlee lost 10 lbs, Robin lost 11, Beth lost 12 and Tammy lost 18 lbs, all in less than 2 months. The participants range in age from 37 to 67.

How did they do it? They purchased our weight loss kit and substituted one meal a day with our SPro whey protein powder and took the Green Tea Plus appetite suppressant.

They received daily motivational and inspirational emails and a weekly call to keep them on track and many used an accountability partner to hold themselves to their goals.

Netflix for Jillian Michaels DVD

In my attempts to save money and keep my workouts fresh, I joined Netflix and found they have over 500 fitness DVDs to choose from, plus a variety for you, whether it's dance or yoga or resistance training or tai chi!

I opted for the plan that gives you one DVD at a time for less than $9 a month. With that, I can download an unlimited amount of movies at no extra cost. There is a free offer so you can check it out!

The selection is great. I took about 30 minutes to put ones that interest me into a list. When I send one back, I get the next on the list within two days. It's really fast.

They also suggest DVDs for you based on your interests. I love the service and I found a fitness DVD that I got a lot out of. It's Jillian Michaels for Beginners: Backside. I learned things I'd never heard before and it was a great workout.

Check out www.netflix.com.

Have a great day!

Staying compliant with your health goals

We have started another Health Coaching Group for the month of February!
To qualify, purchase our weight loss kit or $100 retail in S-Force products from my website at www.myseriesse.com/mindy. My contact info is at the site or below if you would like help ordering.

I would like to ask each of you to start thinking about what you want and what you will do differently this month. It has been my experience that baby steps in the right direction are what work. Set your goal and then decide what changes need to be made to get there, one step at a time. Add one step per week.

You have to be ready to make a change. Your reasons for changing will help you stay compliant. What are your reasons? Write them down and revisit them often.
I have a picture of how I would like to look on my fridge. We have to visualize what we want and believe that we can do it. I know, the believing part is the hard part! It will come, I promise. What you need are some small successes that allow you to get to the point where you trust yourself!

Our program officially begins February 2nd. I will be sending daily motivational or informational emails. Our first group call will be on Saturday February 7th at 11 am Eastern. This was the most popular time. It will be recorded in case you can’t make it. This is a 4 week program, with our calls taking place on the 7, 14, 21, and 28. Each call will be a 20 minute lesson with time after (for as long as you want) for interaction between the members and Q and A.

I am hoping to pair everyone up with a buddy to help keep you accountable, even if it is just via email. Let me know if you DO NOT want to participate in this.

With your S-Force Protein Powder replacing a meal one time per day and by taking your Green Tea Plus right after breakfast and lunch, you will be on your way to increasing your metabolism and focus, improving your mood, increasing muscle and losing fat.
I recommend 6 days on and then one cheat day! We’ll talk more about this in one of our calls.

I take the S-Pro protein powder and the Green Tea Plus daily, along with the vitamins, the Mega Omega supplement, the Green Tea Water Amplifiers and the two Amla products. I use these for optimal health. If you have questions about the benefits of any of these, please ask. If you have joint or cholesterol issues, I can promise you my mother and brother have gotten great results with our products that address these conditions.

One of our team members has lost 15 pounds since November!

After you order, send me your first name and email so I can put you on my email list.

Exercise idea!

Yesterday I joined Netflix and found they have 500 or so fitness DVDs you can rent and then you’ll never get bored of your routine. I sat down and went through the whole list yesterday and put about 30 on a list. They will automatically be sent out one right after the other. I’m excited and thought some of you may want to do the same. I signed up for under $10 a month and I think I’ll like it better than leaving the house for a workout! Plus you can also rent movies you can watch on the treadmill!

Are you sticking to your baby step? Have you been checking in with your accountability partner? Are you doing your affirmations? Are you tracking your exercise and your food intake? Are you taking your supplements? I hope all of these steps are helping you and that you feel like you are moving in the right direction!

For those of you who aren't familiar with what I am asking above, I am health coaching a group of 17 people who are losing weight with our S-Force products. Please contact me if you would like more information.

More energy, better mood, lower cholesterol, lose weight

I am happy to report that our S-Force weight loss kit has helped many lose 3-5 pounds each week since we started 2009! Many feel more energy and are more focused and happier (no kidding, even while restricting calories and adding in exercise!). I want you to know that our cholesterol product has also helped lower bad and increase good cholesterol for many of my customers. Here are the numbers for my mother after being on the cholesterol control for 4 months. Total cholesterol went from 267 to 227. Her good cholesterol was at 80 (2 times the normal) and her bad is better, down 40 points. For more information please go to www.myseriesse.com/mindy and feel free to get in touch with me if you need help in ordering.

I have what you need for energy and weight loss!

Because we don’t get all the nutrients we need from our food, we must supplement. The nutrients in our supplements will provide optimum health, but will also help you with your weight loss goals! Our S-Force multi-vitamin is a must!
If you are cutting calories and not currently supplementing with amino acids, you need our S-Pro whey protein powder. Essential amino acids are called that because they are required to support life.
By taking your amino acids in a protein shake, you are assured they are in the proper ratios. It will also help you lose weight and maintain muscle. In addition, it helps with your mood and energy while dieting! Adding this into your diet will help normalize a slow metabolism.
Amino acids should be taken with some fruit juice so here is the winning recipe. Use our Amla juice concentrate, cold water and a scoop of protein powder. If you need a little extra, use a half of a frozen banana!
We are about preventive medicine! Check out my website at www.myseriesse.com/mindy and email me or call me for more information.
The right food and supplements are half the battle. For lasting weight loss and to be a happier, more well-adjusted person, you must move the body! The best time for working out is in the morning…studies show you burn more fat in the morning. Second best is in the evening before dinner. Aim for 30 minutes, 6 days a week. If you can find time to add 15-20 minutes later in the day, you will lose weight faster and up your metabolism.

Boost your Metabolism, Lose Fat, Gain Muscle

Our goal this month is to be in control and make decisions from a position of strength. Have you done your wheel and figured out where you’d like to improve? Have you set a baby step? If so, and you’ve been sticking to it, I’m sure you are feeling stronger and more in control of your choices.
Today I’d like to talk about metabolism (metabolic rate=rate at which your body burns calories for energy). We are going to work on increasing metabolism so calories are burned faster and less body fat is produced. We are talking about a lifetime plan you can live with, making small changes that lead to a healthier lifestyle, not counting or cutting calories!
The reason I recommend taking what you would normally eat and breaking it into 6 small meals is because every time you eat, your metabolism increases. This also keeps you in control of your appetite. Make sure you have some protein for breakfast (an S-Force whey protein shake works)!
From the book, Fat to Fit Without Dieting, by Jeanne Rhodes, your body produces less fat and more energy from smaller, frequent feedings, plus the time of day you eat also influences your body’s fat production. Eating a big meal at night really is counterproductive because the thermic effect of food is lower by evening, and your body’s caloric requirements are also lower by evening.
She goes on to say that Fiber Fights Fat! Load up on grains and vegetables because high fiber foods combine with the fat in a meal to prevent some of its absorption and fiber increases food transit time (moves through the intestines quicker limiting caloric absorption. Aim to have fiber in each of your meals and snacks.
I used to eat a turkey roll-up (turkey wrapped in provolone cheese) as my lunch, thinking I was doing the right thing by cutting the carbs with bread. I recently added whole grain bread to it and I find I’m satisfied for a much longer time! Try it!
I hope you are having a successful week.

On medication or not, you need supplementation!

Some prescription drugs deplete your nutritional status:
Antacids, ulcer meds, antibiotics, cholesterol drugs, anti-depressants, female hormones, anti-convulsants, anti-inflammatories (aspirin and NSAIDS), diuretics, cardiovascular drugs, diabetic drugs and anti-virals.
Our S-Force items are AMAZING and are making everyone more focused and more energetic!

Our Amla Rush features the amalaki berry along with other berries (blueberries, raspberries, cranberries, strawberries, bilberry) and fruits for an antioxidant packed juice concentrate. The amalaki berry has been studied for over 50 years in regards to this fruit and cholesterol, wrinkles, eyesight and cancer. It’s a youth-promoting tonic, anti-inflammatory that helps nearly all systems of the body. Low in calories and all-natural sugars. Most concentrated source of natural Vit C known.
We also offer the Amla Rush powder with guarana for an added energy boost ( the powdered version has caffeine).

Our multi-vitamin is packed with wonderful ingredients to help those of us who don’t get the recommended fruits and vegetables every day. All the main vitamins needed plus minerals and over 100 balanced nutrients for optimum health attached to whole food so it’s recognized, assimilated and utilized better in our bodies (exlusive food-bound technology). Nearly all doctors recommend a multi. We have added many other beneficial ingredients to help with energy, combat stress and improve overall health.

Our cholesterol control contains chromium which has an adaptogen effect. Everyone after 35 needs it and most of the population is deficient in it. Cycladol is an herb the FDA has determined helps lower cholesterol without drugs. Resveratrol has been shown to be an anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-cancer ingredient.

Joint support formula contains glucosamine to help produce synovial fluid (the grease that keeps joints working smoothly) and helps in the growth, maintenance and repair of cartilage. Contains hyaluronan to support connective tissue. Many are feeling a difference right away but it could take 6 weeks for it to work.

Green Tea Plus Diet contains a blend of thermogenic nutrients that will boost your metabolism, increase energy and is anti-inflammatory. Ephedrine free. Contains guarana, yerba mate, acai fruit (superfood) and B12.

Green Tea Water Amplifier contains polyphenols that help shield your DNA from free radical damage. Made with the highest quality standardized green tea. Contains acai berry and is calorie free, caffeine free and sugar free. Tea drinkers show lower death rates.

Please go to www.myseriesse.com/mindy for more information or to order.

Staying on track for a healthier you!

Here is some information that was new to me, and I apologize, I don’t know where it came from, but I wrote it down.
Metabolism climbs during digestion and is two times as high when eating a high protein meal.
If you lift weights two times a week, you will burn an extra 100 calories a day.
Sipping water keeps your energy up!
Now, I don’t know about you, but I have not kept all of my promises to myself this week. The “old” me would have beat myself up over it. The “new” me has compassion for myself and realizes that what matters is that I’m going in the right direction.
The question is, are you doing better this week?
One positive habit I added into my diet last year is drinking a daily green drink with added fiber. I purchase Nanogreens at my chiropractors office and then add Benefiber. This will help keep your body’s pH in check. Many doctors believe an imbalance of pH accelerates aging on the inside and outside.
Dr. Jeannette Graf says in her book, Stop Aging, Start Living, that unbalanced pH is thought to be the culprit of many degenerative and autoimmune diseases.
She adds for those of us concerned with weight loss and wrinkles, eat a diet rich in dark leafy greens, vegetables, olive oil and nuts, and eat less red meat and sugar. Dr. Graf recommends Greens First or Greens+ as a green drink if you can’t find the Nanogreens.
It’s the small changes we make daily that add up to a healthier lifestyle.

Health Coaching for Weight Loss

Many of you may just want to shed some extra weight. Others may have been struggling for a long time. If you watched Oprah Monday, you know that it’s more than just a weight issue. That’s why I’ll be focusing on how we think as much as what we do in our health coaching classes!
You have to make yourself important, a priority, and you must give yourself the care you need.
For those of you who have already read The Answer by John Assaraf, you know that 96-98% of our behaviors are automatic. We have to interrupt this pattern to make real changes in our lives. We will talk more about this in one of our group sessions.
Another good book I read recently that I would recommend to help you stop self-punishing patterns is The Dark Side of the Light Chasers by Debbie Ford. She says:
“Challenge the person you think you are in order to unveil the person you are capable of becoming.”
“If we don’t shift our perceptions of our true selves, we’ll be stuck repeating our past behaviors.”
“The power you need is there, but it will only come out when your desire to change your life is stronger than your desire to stay the same.” I am offering free coaching this month with the purchase of our S-Force weight loss kit. To contact me, go to www.myseriesse.com/mindy. You can order there and then email me to put you on the health coaching list.
I hope you are having a great week.

S-Force Weight Loss Kit on Special

The way to change in the New Year begins with incorporating new habits that edge out the old, negative habits.
I suggest you start the day from a position of strength. Do something physical first, then make sure you eat breakfast. Our S-Pro protein powder is a great place to start. You can combine it with cold coffee, ice cubes and skim milk to replace your expensive cold coffee from the coffee shop or mix it with berries and bananas for a great smoothie.
You’ll be glad to know our S-Pro contains whey protein which is better for many reasons.
Whey is a complete protein because it contains all essential and non-essential amino acids. Whey protein is actually absorbed, retained and used in the body and can enhance energy levels, boost immune functions and help fight infections.
Other benefits of Whey Protein:
Helps to increase serotonin activity, the body’s ‘antidepressive’ neurotransmitter
Helps to decrease stress and reduces cortisol concentration levels
Helps to improve mood and memory loss under stress
Helps to build lean body mass and reduce body fat
Satisfies appetite and helps keep your metabolic rate high
I would be happy to suggest additional products for optimal health. You can contact me at www.myseriesse.com/mindy
Have a great day!
Just remember, you can do anything you set your mind to, but it takes action, perseverance, and facing your fears.

What do you want?

Hopefully you are feeling motivated and excited about a new week, a new year and a new you! Even if you’re not, ACT like you are. Start by finding a way to enjoy the activities you do every day.
I read something when my kids were small that made me realize I’d better start finding a way to enjoy cleaning, laundry, dishes and making lunches because I’d be doing them for a long time. Guess what? I really do enjoy them now.
Putting your attention and love into daily activities does pay off! Energy flows where attention goes. Put your energy into the activities that REALLY matter. Be present in the moment and count your blessings.
If you have not yet started your affirmations, this is a good day to begin that. At first, I was hit or miss with mine, now I am consistent and have created quite a long list that I read through at least once a day.
Reading them while waiting at appointments or sitting in traffic is helpful. (By the way, my life coach friend, Nancy, recommends buying bubbles and blowing them while in traffic. She says the breathing part of it is helpful and you make others smile!)
Examples of some of my affirmations:
I love and accept myself and the choices I have made.
I now take charge of my mind and life.
I am willing to change. I release all resistance.
I create a new life with new rules that totally support me.
Don’t give up on your affirmations. Realize it has taken a lifetime to create your world the way it is now. It may not necessarily change instantly.
From the book, Creative Visualization, by Shakti Gawain - shorter, simpler affirmations that convey a strong feeling are more effective.
She says many in our culture have become cut off from their spiritual essence and thereby feel helpless or powerless. We then overcompensate and struggle very hard to have some degree of power or control in our world.
I have been guilty of this and have finally learned, LEAST EFFORT, NOT MOST EFFORT.
Nancy said to me recently when I said how I feel a need to be productive in my hours I’m not sleeping, “Is that what you want your life to be all about?” She encourages me to focus on BE-ING, not do-ing.
Figure out what you want your life to be about and start creating that!
Have a great day and a great week!
Mindy
