BRITISH BLOGS ON MAKEUP AND MOCHA!

I decided to have a Make Up and Mocha party for several reasons. 1st....women respond well to theme style parties. A theme adds a bit of "fun and flavor" to the party concept, it is also gives us a way to promote our products in a unique way.

I will be serving mocha drinks, lattes, cappuccino and good old fashioned coffee! Pastries, coffee cake and a nice fruit/cheese/crackers platter.

I'll have all the make up set up for viewing and sampling. I also have my friend and make up artist (from HSN) Nelda doing some 3 make overs. I've asked 3 customers that are already using our skin care (and loving it!) to be testimonials for the skin care and let Nelda apply our new make up at the party. Nelda will also be giving tips to the women about proper make up application. Nelda will also speak VERY highly of the benefits of using our Mineral Make up and other cosmetics. I think the professional recommendation will make everyone want to buy it even more! Having a make up artist is NOT necessary, but if someone has access to one, it can't hurt.

The party focus will be on the make up line, but I will also have 3 skin care lines on the table and I will talk about them for about 15 minutes. I don’t think it's necessary to bring all the skin care out, but we can mention we have something for everyone. I will also be doing demos with the C Extreme.

I teamed up with 3 other consultants on my team, we will all pitch in on the day of the party. Someone will answer questions, someone will take orders, make sure everyone is served, etc.

We will give away a few free products during the party. We have 2 big drawings for those that brought a friend and purchased, and also those that book a party will go in a drawing for S Force and get 20% their order. Overall, it is about having fun and making lots of sales!!

My website address for my blog is http://www.mlmblackwoman.com/ Let me know if you need anything else!! I also used evite.com to create an invitation and it helps to do this because people are more inclined to make a committment to come to the party.

YOU'RE INVITED TO A SPECIAL CALL

I have very exciting news to share with you! I've developed a friendship with author, Bob Burg, and he has graciously offered to do a training call for our team! I am very excited about this and encourage you to join us Wednesday, February 20th at 7 pm Eastern for this call. I will ask that you please get on the call early so we don't have interruptions, and if you email me ahead of time, I'll put your name on a list to ask a question of Bob. In the meantime, you may want to pick up his book:

Bob also has another best-seller, The Go-Giver: A Little Story about a Powerful Business Idea, written along with John David Mann, The Zen of MLM author. I've read them both and highly recommend them.

By reading Endless Referrals, you can expect to:

1-Create more sales in less time,

2-Overcome your prospecting fears and 3-Generate qualified leads fast.

I have been using the advice from this book for a long time and didn't realize until now how much great information I got from Bob! I recently went over all my highlighted portions from his book and here are just a few of the many tips given in his book::

Having a big list of contacts makes you more confident, gives you posture (you care, but not that much).

People buy from people they know, like and trust.

The idea of going through the Yellow Pages to jog your memory for your list, and putting your business card in when you pay your monthly bills and when you leave a tip.

The idea of sending a notepad with a photo and your website to your potential clients, came from Bob's book! The reason for this: you become “familiar” to them and you are always “top of mind”.

We will all learn a lot from Bob and I'm so thankful for this opportunity. Please put it on your calendar. Bob will tailor his message for us and gear it toward our business. He will train on Creating Endless Prospects and Referrals! Have a great weekend!

DIRECT SELLING ACCEPTED BUSINESS MODEL

Excerpts from an article in the magazine, Selling Now

also see www.sellingnow.com

I was making $50,000 as a nurse and $30,000 in what I considered my fun job, the jewelry sales.”

Products that require explanation or client education tend to thrive in the direct sales environment.

About 75% are women and 75% work part-time.

Success in direct sales is a matter of finding out what's a good fit for you.

Choose a product you would use even if you weren't selling it. Even better if you're passionate about it because the passion will drive your business.

The desire to achieve is the most important thing, a willingness to just go for it.

People need to realize it's not just going to fall into their laps. You have to put your time into it. In the end it will give you what you want.

Be known as THE Seriesse consultant in your town

DO TOOT YOUR OWN HORN

(from IBD article)

Be seen! Jeff Beals, author of Self Marketing Power, says you should network deliberately and always be ready with your elevator speech-a 30 second spiel that sums up your business. Zero in on what’s unique and make it easy to understand. First listen, then talk. Leave everyone with something they’ll remember (information, a referral, etc). Debbie Allen, author of Confessions of Shameless Self-Promoters, says be a billboard (t-shirts with what you do) and ask others to be too.

Concentrate on strengths, not weaknesses

WORK FROM STRONG POINTS
(from an IBD article)

Pour more energy into advancing your strengths says Marcus Buckingham, author of Go Put Your Strengths to Work. Your strengths are not necessarily what you’re good at, but activities that make you feel strong (you feel competent, drawn to it, your mind is energetic, you don’t struggle to concentrate).

How do you find out what your strengths are?

Get to know yourself (what you like and why). Once you know your strengths, think of the things you can do. Make a plan. This will force you to think things through. Act today. It’s an incremental process. You must take steps toward your goals regularly, however small.

SERIESSE RETAIL STAR, JENNI REYNOLDS!

Hi Mindy,
Happy New Year! My retail approach has been pretty basic. I think my love and conviction of the products really helps. My efforts have been more with retail than recruiting because that's the way I was introduced to Seriesse having been a customer of Jennifer's for 12 years.
I use email a lot and word of mouth. I try on a weekly basis to send emails to 2 groups, current customers and those I call future customers. All are people I know or acquaintances. I will either highlight a particular product, send info. on current advertising/webcasts, or specials currently available. With persistance, results come through. In December, I had people ordering on my website without knowing about it, which I thought was pretty awesome. By continually keeping Seriesse in people's minds, little by little, I have people calling to come over and try the products, always resulting in a new customer and often a sale over $100.
I've started asking for referrals and encouraging get togethers to earn the host rewards. Since I have one of everything set up in my home, I also offer individuals to bring a group of friends to my house to try Seriesse in a laid back environment and they earn the hostess rewards for their group sales, no fuss for them.
We hear so much about what to do and what not to do, people need to take action in a manner they feel comfortable with rather than do nothing at all. I plan on doing a mailing with brochures, we'll see how that goes.
A friend of mine who loves our shampoo and conditioner(as I do) shared with me she went to her hairdresser a few weeks ago and while sitting in the chair talking about what they were going to do, her hairdresser said what have you been doing to your hair, it's so shiny and in great condition! Paula has only been using the Zero Fade since Christmas when I gave it to her as a gift and couldn't believe her hairdresser noticed such a difference.
Have a great day!

What you need in a good multi-vitamin

HERE ARE THE VITAMINS YOU NEED EVERY DAY...

I must say, we offer the basics and SO MUCH MORE! We have key adaptogens, ginseng and cordyceps. The asian mushroom blend plus astragalus. N-acetyl cysteine, Alpha lipoic-acid, all the phytonutrient compounds from foods we need to eat but never get enough of. We've added enzymes and more. For those of us who study nutrition...THIS IS VERY EXCITING!

Vitamins B6 and B12-they keep the blood, nerves and immune system functioning properly

Those aged 55 and older lose the ability to absorb B12, need a multi, severe deficiency can cause irreversible neurological damage that looks like Alzheimer’s

Vitamin C-antioxidant that fights DNA-damaging free radicals

Calcium-essential for bone health

Vitamin D-enhances calcium absorption-and so much more, see previous entry

Vitamin E-antioxidant

Folic acid-prevents neural-tube birth defects

Iron-prevents anemia

Vitamin K-it helps maintain healthy blood clotting and promotes bone density and strength

Magnesium-it helps maintain normal muscle and nerve function, regulates blood sugar levels and keeps bones strong

Zinc-plays an important role in supporting a healthy immune system

SERIESSE IS ON TARGET WITH NUTRITION

Dr. Oz recommends:

Calcium and Magnesium together

Omega 3 DHA

A good multi (because 99% of us don't eat the way we're advised)

What can I say about the green tea? GREEN TEA HAS MORE ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY AND IMMUNE-BOOSTING ACTIVITY THAN ANY OTHER TEA

Tea is the second most popular beverage in the world, after water. It comes in many colors (black, green, oolong and white) based on how the raw leaves are processed. Studies show all types offer superb health benefits. Green tea in particular offers copious amounts of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), an antioxidant considered the key to green tea’s healthy qualities. It may contribute to a reduction in risk for human cardiovascular disease and some forms of cancer. It may even keep teeth plaque-free. Drinking tea may also help speed fat metabolism. If nothing else, opting for tea means filling up with a nearly calorie-free liquid that helps stave off hunger pangs. Herbal teas do not derive from the camellia sinensis plant, so they don’t offer the same benefits as traditional tea

Dr. Oz also touched on the acai (ah sigh ee) berry. Look at previous entry re: that. He also said:

The catechins in green tea stimulate the brain!!

What's so great about resveratrol? It turns on a system in your body that prevents your cells from aging! He says in his book, YOU Staying Young, that it changes the chemistry in your body. The book is FANTASTIC!

What is all the buzz about Vit D?

This is the largest deficiency in our country right now. Sixty percent are deficient. It could help prevent cancer, heart disease, MS, JD and infection rates. Helps your immune system to function properly.

NEWS ON GREEN TEA BENEFITS

This is from USA Weekend in the Sunday paper.
Green tea for the brain (from EatSmart, by Jean Carper, in USA Weekend on 2/3/08)
"A chemical in green tea may bring dying brain cells back to life, say Israeli investigators. They showed that EGCG, green tea's main antioxidant, revived animal neurons resembling those killed by Parkinson's disease. Adding small amounts of EGCG to dying brain cells made them bounce back; they became healthier and grew new dendrites (nerve appendages that carry messages from cell to cell.) Some studies show EGCG to be safe in high doses, but the Israeli researchers advise drinking no more than five or six cups of gren tea daily. More may not be better, they say."

Thank you, Wendy, for sending this for the team! www.myseriesse.com/wendyrose

PERSISTANCE PAYS OFF!

WARM UP TO COLD CALLING
(from an Investor's Business Daily article)

No one meets more resistance than people who sell for a living. 80% of sales occur between the fifth and 12th contact, the other 20% happen on the first four contacts.

Check out www.mrcoldcall.com where DM Arenzon compiles his secrets. He says cold-calling is very mentally draining. Present yourself as an energetic expert more interested in a consultative relationship than a sales pitch. Then you won’t appear desperate.

People are less likely to immediately reject you in person than over the phone. Bring candy when you visit prospects. If someone asks you to leave, always smile and say, “Please excuse my persistence.”

FEEL BETTER DURING COLD AND FLU SEASON

Well, it's cold and flu season, so here are some things you can use to help prevent them. Take at the first sign of sickness.

Astragalus-research suggests it stimulates the bone marrow to produce more disease-fighting white blood cells, which in turn produce antibodies and interferon, an antiviral protein.

Zinc-take it at the first sign of symptoms (gluconate form without flavoring agents)

Oats and barley-contain beta-glucan, a type of fiber with antimicrobial and antioxidant capabilities more potent than echinacea.

Garlic-contains allicin which fights infection and bacteria.

Yogurt-contains probiotics (live active cultures) that stimulates white blood cells (Stonyfield Farms contains the specific strain that does this).

Chicken soup-blocks the migration of inflammatory white cells.

Tea-a study showed those who had 5 cups a day of black tea for two weeks had 10 times more virus-fighting interferon in their blood than others. The amino acid responsible is abundant in both black and green tea (L-theanine). I believe the fact that I drink the green tea

daily helps me to stay healthy, even when my kids are sick. It increases my water intake too, which we know is good for us! I also take our multi-vitamins daily (which contain the zinc, astragalus and green tea along with so many other beneficial ingredients), along with a shot of the liquid Amla Rush. To order go to www.mindymccortney.com and click products to read more. My dad swears by the vitamins and the Amla now because his energy has increased so much (and it is hard to get him to consistently take anything!).
